Model Citizens

Saint Patrick Catholic School Model United Nations is an extra-curricular activity that promotes diplomacy, debate, world affairs awareness, and research. Our students have been meeting since the fall to prepare for the annual Middle School Conference presented by the International Relations Club at William and Mary. Sponsored by Betsy Cox and led by alumni Edward Noe and Reeves Yanez, our participants spent many hours researching and preparing to debate their topic.

The three-day conference began on the evening of February 23 and ended Sunday afternoon, February 25. This year, we had five delegates attend: Preston A., George N., Ryan S., Julia F. and Maya D. Their committees included World Bank, The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, 25th Hunger Games Planning Committee, and Mushroom Kingdom Security Council. Over 700 middle school students attended this conference from as far away as Texas. Our students came prepared and ready to debate. They learned more about the importance of diplomacy and had a great time!
