Perseverance Pays Off!

Matthew W., Fourth Grade, recently achieved his black belt in Taekwondo. He started Taekwondo in September 2014, at Mr. Hwang’s World Class TKD in Suffolk. Matthew has attended classes regularly for the past 4 years. He has trained and tested under the guidance of Mr. Hwang and other black belt instructors. Matthew tested for his black belt in April, however the ceremony was held this past Saturday. After each student passes the black belt test, paperwork has to be filled out and sent to Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters in Korea for validation/confirmation.

Becoming a black belt has been a goal of Matthew's since his first class all those years ago. He put a lot of time, energy, and effort into achieving the level of black belt. This is a great example of grit and growth mindset in action. Matthew set a goal years ago; his hard work and perseverance paid off. We are all very proud of him!
