Ahoy, Me Hearties!

It was Ahoy “all hands on deck” as the Fifth Grade students performed their grade level musical on April 13. Under the direction of our stellar music teachers, Chris Kypros and Dionne Smith, these students treated us to not one, but two, pirate-themed performances. “AARRRG’s” abounded in the 5-2 class performance of How to Be Pirate by Greg Gilpin. Captain Sam O. and First Mate Gillian C. taught a group of landlubbers how to be pirates through story and song.

There was talent and treasure aplenty in class 5-1’s performance of Pirates 2: The Hidden Treasure by Roger Emerson and John Jacobson. Led by Captain Abigail B. and the “King of the High C’s” Finley C., this group of buccaneers are shipwrecked on what they think is a deserted island. The pirates find friendly island inhabitants, put on a talent show, and discover that the real treasure is family and friendship.

Shiver me timbers, these students put on a great show!
