There's No Place Like Home!
Alumnus, Marcus Cooper (2019), is back at Saint Patrick to assist with Wolfhound Weeks summer camps. We had the opportunity to catch up with him and this is what he had to share:

- You graduated from Saint Patrick Catholic School in 2019. Where are you going to high school? I’m currently attending the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- What makes the Milton Hershey School unique? It’s a boarding school and I live on campus throughout the school year. The school teaches the whole child. They teach us how to learn and are not simply focused on facts and what to learn. The school also helps students learn to interact and empathize with one another. It actually reminds me a lot of Saint Patrick which is probably one of the reasons I like it so much…it feels like I’m still at here!
- What brings you back to Saint Patrick? Has it been fun to be back? I’m back to help with basketball summer camp as part of Wolfhound Weeks. I really like seeing my teachers and friends. I also like working with the younger kids because I remember looking forward to talking with the older alumni when I was their age.
- What is your favorite memory of Saint Patrick? I would have to say Field Day during my Eighth Grade year. I really liked having that last bit of camaraderie and competition with my class.
- Is there a lesson from Saint Patrick that has helped you get to where you are now? I will always remember two things Mr. Hammond used to say: “Whether You're Five or One Hundred Five…” and “Finish Strong”. Both keep me pushing and knowing that I need to keep going. These words also remind me that it’s never too late to start trying, to make a change, and to make a difference. These are things I try to do, day in and day out.
- What are your plans for the future? I’m currently thinking of going to college and then to law school. I’m interested in political justice. I’ve also thought of being a parole or probation officer for adolescent youth.
