What a Blessing!

The 15th annual Blessing of the Animals was held on Wednesday, October 2, celebrating the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi (c. 1180 – 1226), patron saint of animals and the environment. Saint Patrick was a literal zoo! Students and parents gathered on the Green with their pets - including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, a chicken, a pig, and even a jar of worms. Father Jim Curran, pastor of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, blessed  each and every one of our four-legged, fluffy, scaly, and stuffed friends of all shapes and sizes. He even blessed the photos of pets not able to attend. Check out all of our Wolfhound friends!
