Blessing of the Animals
The Green
We will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis by blessing all animals, pictures of animals, and stuffed animals. Please bring your pet(s) to the Saint Patrick Green at before 7:30 am. Your critters, furry, smooth, feathery, or scaly, are all welcome. The blessing ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 on the Green. All animals should be on leashes or in appropriate cages, chaperoned by their human companions, and taken from the school immediately following the ceremony. After blessing, all students will go to their homeroom for Mass, except K and 8th grade will go to the theater. IF IT RAINS, THE EVENT WILL BE CANCELLED.
If it is not practical for you to bring pets, your child can bring a photo of the animal so that the pet can be blessed “in absentia.” If
your child does not have a pet or bringing one is not convenient, they may bring a stuffed animal or a picture of an animal of their choosing. We are looking forward to welcoming some of the “extended”members of the Wolfhound family.
