The Saint Patrick Catholic School Spanish curriculum follows the Foreign Language in Elementary School (FLES) model. The goals of the program are to foster high levels of proficiency by exposing students at young ages to foreign language education and to provide a meaningful context for language skill acquisition. In addition, our program gives students opportunities to grow in their appreciation and knowledge of the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
Features of the Saint Patrick FLES Spanish Program include:
- The development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish.
- A nurturing environment where students are comfortable exploring a second language.
- Opportunities such as our annual Fiesta Latina where students are exposed to the geography, culture and history of Spanish-speaking nations across the globe.
