Young Wolfhounds Show Their Commitment to the Physical Life

Athletics are a big deal at Saint Patrick! Our students begin participating in sports as early as Third Grade and many play sports outside of school as well. The Physical Life is an important pillar in our mission  of Total Formation. Physical education and team sports not only a healthy lifestyle, but also teach young children the importance of character, commitment, and perseverance. In past years, close to 95% of the student body has participated in at least one sport. While we have been unable to engage in organized sports, this year, that has not stopped many of our young Wolfhounds from showing their commitment to the Physical Life.

Second Grade student, Nasir R., recently won first place in the 60 meter dash and a second place in the 200 meter dash at the AAU Indoor National Track Meet.  Not only is this an outstanding accomplishment, but this was Nasir's first national meet!

On March 14th Fourth Grade student, Kenan S., competed in the Virginia Swimming Age Group Short Course Championships in Stafford, VA. He was 1 of only 14 swimmers in the Commonwealth who qualified to compete in the 100-yard Breast stroke for 9-10 year old boys. This past weekend Kenan also competed at a SwimRVA meet, in Richmond, where he placed as the top 10 and under boy with six first-place finishes and one second-place finish!

Way to go Wolfhounds!
