United in Prayer

Wolfhounds began Holy Thursday in a special way when Saint Patrick students, parents, teachers, and staff reunited as a spiritual community for a live-streamed chapel service. Spread across Hampton Roads, Wolfhounds tuned in on their laptops, phones, iPads, and Chromebooks to participate. Saint Patrick’s Director of Spiritual Development and Middle School Religion Teacher Marilyn Ertel welcomed viewers and set a prayerful tone. The Gospel was read by 8th Grade Celtic Council President Cameron S. and students were excited to see their fellow Wolfhound included in the service. Principal Steve Hammond’s reflection encouraged students to follow Jesus’ example in the washing of his Apostles’ feet – to be humble and to serve others with an open heart. The service closed with The Prayers of the Faithful. Many viewers reported that the virtual chapel gave them exactly what they were craving in this unprecedented time - a spiritual connection to each other as a school community. Wolfhounds, we are in this together! Click here to watch the prayer service.
