A Talented Troupe

The final curtain just went down on the Saint Patrick Theatre Troupe’s wonderful production of The Wizard of Oz. What a talented group of young actors. Their dedication and long hours of rehearsal paid off. Each performer really shined in their respective role – from the littlest Munchkin to the great and powerful Wizard of Oz. Special thanks to Rocco and Kathi-Lee Wilson, our technical crew, and our amazing parent volunteers who generously donated their time and talent on-stage and behind the scenes. A special shoutout to our Eighth Grade thespians who made their final bow on May 11 – Faith, Jin, Marco, Julia, Hayden, and Abby. We have so enjoyed watching you perform over the years, and know you have very bright futures ahead of you!

And speaking of talent, Fifth Grader Mesgana Jackson, who performed as Dorothy in the final show, has landed the lead role in the Virginia Stage Company’s production of Matilda at the Wells Theater in Norfolk. Alumna Eleni Segerblom ('17) will also appear in the production. This musical adaption of Roald Dahl’s classic book tells the story of Matilda Wormwood, a young girl with a sharp wit and a love for books. With her special brand of ingenuity, she dares to stand against the tyranny of adults who seek to crush her imagination. This multi-Tony award-winning musical highlights local students and gives them the opportunity to perform alongside some of the top professional actors from around the country. Show dates are May 22- June 2, 2019. Mesgana will perform in all shows, except May 30. This production is fun for the whole family and is suggested for all ages. Click here to purchase tickets.
