  • Third Grade Teacher

    Job Description

    Saint Patrick Catholic School in Norfolk, VA is currently seeking a third grade teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and above in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university with knowledge of child development and the learning process. Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must also meet the Commonwealth of Virginia’s state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.

    Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of child development, content expertise, and curriculum and policies; commitment to the belief that all students can learn characterized by appropriate management strategies that meet the needs of students; and instructional techniques that integrate reading, writing, math, faith, and technology throughout the content areas is essential.
    • Individuals must possess the ability to self-reflect on instructional practices and personal interactions for continuous improvement; work effectively with administrators, colleagues, students, parents, and the community demonstrating organizational agility; and excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

    Saint Patrick Catholic School has an enrollment of 400 students in grades PreK through eighth grade. Our committed faculty and staff, in partnership with parents, serve as role models and mentors.   • Director of Buildings and Grounds

    Job Summary:

    The Director of Buildings and Grounds will oversee maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds; key responsibilities may include safety and security, preparing budget estimates, maintain preventive maintenance schedules and supervising and training employees.
     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Hires, supervises, and trains employees who maintain buildings, grounds and provide security.
    • Oversees the day-to-day workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the department.
    • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. 
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with School policy.  

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Drafts and implements routine maintenance schedules and standards; ensures compliance with these standards.
    • Collaborates regularly with the Director of Finance & Non-Academic Operations to identify renovation or construction needs.
    • Perform/coordinate with other maintenance staff completion of minor repairs and maintenance.
    • Inspects and approves work performed by outside contractors.
    • Maintain records of all Contracts, Certificates of Insurance and Hold Harmless agreements for all contractors who perform work on campus.
    • Prepares the departmental budget; reviews monthly financial reports for compliance with budget.
    • Coordinate all safety related drills ( i.e. fire, tornado) with Director of Academic Operations , Director of Finance & Security Officer
    • Ensure proper security of buildings and grounds with Security Officer. Including adequate staffing for afterhours events. Become familiar with all security related systems such as badges and building lock software.
    • Maintain records and schedules for equipment/systems that require annual or more frequent inspections. Examples are range hood in Dining Hall, Fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire sprinkler system, backflow  etc.
    • Perform routing building
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
     

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to maintain reports, records, and budgets.
     

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • At least five years of related experience in building maintenance.
     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting and standing
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to access and inspect areas of buildings and grounds.
  • Extended Care Team Member: Part Time

    The Part Time Hours of this position are 6:30-7:30 AM and/or 2:45-6:00 PM.

    The Extended Care Program is an extension of the Saint Patrick family that meets every day before and/or after school where students are provided an opportunity to relax, socialize, play, discover and enjoy their interests. 
     
    Qualifications: Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of post graduation education; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Evening Cleaning Crew Member: Part Time

    We are seeking part-time evening Cleaning Crew team members to perform janitorial work in our school. Basic job duties include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, surface cleaning, trash removal, cleaning bathrooms, restocking (soap dispenser/hand sanitizer/toilet paper rolls) and window cleaning.
     
  • Substitute Teacher

    Serve in the absence of the classroom teacher or teacher assistant in Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. The substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.
  • Substitute School Nurse

    Serve as a substitute for our Health and Wellness Nurse to provide primary health and emergency care to students, promote wellness and serve as a resource for health concerns in the school setting.

    Qualifications: Candidate must have a degree in nursing or related field; experience in pediatric and/or community or public health nursing; prior experience in school nursing, or acute care setting preferred.
  • Teacher Assistant: Full Time

    Qualifications: Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of post graduation education. One year's experience working with students in structured situations required. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the abilities, skills, and knowledge of the position may be considered.
  • Lower School or Middle School Teacher: Full Time

    QualificationsCandidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and above in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university with knowledge of child development and the learning process.  Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must also meet Commonwealth of Virginia’s state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
