  • Dining Staff Cook

    This position performs responsible, semi-skilled work in preparing and serving meals and cleaning in elementary school cafeterias. Work is performed under regular supervision.
     
    Dining Staff Cook Requirements:
    • High school diploma or its equivalent.
    • At least two or three years of commercial or institutional experience food preparation experience.
    • Possession of or ability to acquire appropriate license(s), certificate(s), and/or endorsement(s) for position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
     
    Job Description:
    • Oversees meal preparation, cooks and serves meats, breads, vegetables, and other food in accordance with the menu.
    • Opens kitchen, sets up equipment, and prepares cafeteria for serving.
    • Prepares and serves fruits, desserts, salads, soups, and other foods.
    • Washes pots, pans, kettles, and other cooking utensils.
    • Operates dishwasher, mixer, chopper, slicer, steamers, ovens, and other food service and mechanical equipment.
    • Cleans work surfaces, eating, and food preparation area.
    • Sweeps and mops and performs other cleaningl duties as assigned.
    • Assist in estimating and ordering food supplies.
    • Receives and stocks food supplies and maintains sanitary conditions.
    • Works with Food Service Manager to: maintain safe and sanitary work environment and ensures all policies and procedures are followed.
    • Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of the preparation, cooking, and serving of food in large quantities.
    • Knowledge of food quality and values: some knowledge of special dietary requirements.
    • Knowledge of the practices used in receiving and storing food in large quantities.
    • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures used in food handling and in the operation, cleaning and care of utensils, equipment, and work area.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, and school staff.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
    • The work environment is primarily inside; the worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, extreme heat, noise, hazards, and atmospheric conditions. 
    • The worker may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment
    • This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Work requires stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arms length, operation of machines, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
  • Extended Care Team Member: Part Time

    The Part Time Hours of this position are 6:30-7:30 AM and/or 2:45-6:00 PM.

    The Extended Care Program is an extension of the Saint Patrick family that meets every day before and/or after school where students are provided an opportunity to relax, socialize, play, discover and enjoy their interests. 
     
    Qualifications: Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of post graduation education; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Evening Cleaning Crew Member: Part Time

    We are seeking part-time evening Cleaning Crew team members to perform janitorial work in our school. Basic job duties include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, surface cleaning, trash removal, cleaning bathrooms, restocking (soap dispenser/hand sanitizer/toilet paper rolls) and window cleaning.
     
  • Substitute Teacher

    Serve in the absence of the classroom teacher or teacher assistant in Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. The substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.
  • Substitute School Nurse

    Serve as a substitute for our Health and Wellness Nurse to provide primary health and emergency care to students, promote wellness and serve as a resource for health concerns in the school setting.

    Qualifications: Candidate must have a degree in nursing or related field; experience in pediatric and/or community or public health nursing; prior experience in school nursing, or acute care setting preferred.
