Betsy McLindaFifth Grade TeacherMrs. Betsy McLinda comes to Saint Patrick Catholic School with over 11 years of experience as a classroom educator. Most recently she served as a 5th grade teacher, 5th grade chairperson, Math Title I teacher, and Mathematics Instructional Leader in a neighboring school district. Additionally, she has teaching experiences in preschool, first, third and fourth grade classrooms. Mrs. McLinda also served as the Lower School Director at Pacific Northern Academy in Anchorage, Alaska. “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Some day in your life, you will have been all of these.” ~ George Washington Carver Mrs. McLinda earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development with an emphasis in early childhood education from Lynchburg College. She graduated magna cum laude with a minor in Asian Studies. During her years as an undergraduate, she studied the Japanese language and educational system in Seigakuin University in Tokyo, Japan. Mrs. McLinda has earned numerous graduate credits in gifted education. Mrs. McLinda has volunteered for Relay for Life events for the American Cancer Society as well as for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. |
