Fall 2009 Classes

Registration for all students is required. Space is limited.

A.C.E. is excited to have the opportunity to open up our classes to the entire school. These classes are free to registered A.C.E. students, but there is a nominal fee for those who aren’t. This fee covers the entire semester, and all costs are included in this price. Everyone must register. The form to register is under the forms link. Class sizes are limited, so sign up now!

Li'l Sprouts Garden Club

Do you love getting your hands dirty? Then this hands-on club is right for you.  Join our Li'l Sprouts and explore the wonders of learning about where vegetables come from, how to plant them and how composting benefits the planet.  Each week our Club will meet to plan, plant and tend their garden.  At the end of the season, they will donate the harvest to a local charitable community organization.

Performing Wolfhounds

Come join our pack of harmoniously spirited Wolfhounds! In this fun, interactive class, students will review basic concepts gained within their general music class. Participants will be encouraged to express themselves musically by playing instruments, listening, singing, dancing, creating and reading music.  Don’t miss the fun!

Fit Kids

Come join our Fit Kids Club! This high energy, interactive club combines aerobics, music and lots of fun while strengthening muscles and improving coordination.  Each week children will be introduced to a new aerobics routine, learn how to perform the routine to the tunes of lively music and talk about the importance of healthy foods to fuel their bodies.  Get Energized. Get Healthy. Have lots of Fun!

Five Senses

5 Senses Club

Have you ever wondered about your 5 senses? This club will give your child the chance to discover their five senses in a fun, creative way. Each week your child will learn about one of the senses and participate in an activity or craft that will demonstrate how each sense functions. Every craft is designed and safe for the younger children. By the end of the club, your child will be able to describe how each of the senses works and show how the five senses can be translated into art!

Come join the Saint Patrick research team and find new and exciting discoveries. Get ready to put on your lab coats and break out your goggles to help our research team with some hands on experiments. Your challenge is trying to form a hypothesis and proving you are correct. Good luck team!

Intro to Foreign Language

Do you wish your children could study another language? Do you wish they could learn about other cultures? Now they can! Throughout the semester the students will have the opportunity to study three languages: Spanish, French, and Italian. Within the club they will be taught basic phrases that are sure to impress anyone that hears them.

Super Secret Spy Club

Attention all spies!! Mr. Mysterio is still on the prowl! Join our international spy team to put this criminal behind bars once and for all. Each spy will strengthen their spy skills and will work to attain an international spy certification. Please join us this semester, and help us find the true identity of Mr. Mysterio.

St. Patrick students are invited to learn the basics of American Sign Language. We will attempt to immerse ourselves in the world of Deaf Culture while furthering our linguistic development and having a ton of fun!

Strings for Kids

Strings for Kids is a program designed to engage your child in the adventure of playing the violin. Throughout the program, your child will develop a better understanding of note-reading, rhythm, pitch and the overall history of music. This fun, relaxing environment will enable your child to grasp the basic concepts of playing a string instrument while preparing him/or her for more advanced studies in the subject.

Please note, if your child does not own a violin, you may consider renting one from a local music store such as the Music and Arts Center.

This semester, engage your children in the fun, yet challenging, world of double dutch! Kids will learn the history of double dutch and learn the basic moves that can be seen in competitions worldwide.
