Because of Our Volunteers

      

Because of our Saint Patrick Catholic School Volunteers:

  • class socials were held, helping all new and founding families and students feel a part of the STPCS community.
  • 11 basketball teams and 19 soccer teams had incredible coaches.
  • our students learned about tumbling, lacrosse, tennis and golf.
  • 15 students participated in Cross Country, 35 students joined lacrosse, 10 were on the Track team, 50 students participated in field hockey, 23 are now becoming golfers, and 14 students were cheerleaders.
  • the 3rd/4th grade Midget girls basketball team won the TCBL tournament championship.
  • the Cross Country team placed 2nd in the Catholic League.
  • students were able to purchase books of their desire to add to their home libraries.
  • STPCS hosted two very successful book fairs and brought in more than $4,000.00 to the media center.
  • you effectively helped managed to keep 7800 text materials appropriately shelved so 430 patrons could borrow with ease, which total 6,155 checks outs since September 2006.
  • you helped catalog 3,000 new`materials on the shelves in the media center, as well as keeping up with the projects that decorate the shelves.
  • you help our media center keep its "open door policy."
  • your admirable service as Table Captains for our Returing Thanks Campaign helped generate more than $450,000.00 in one-time gifts and 5 year pledges.
  • "Evenings at Saint Patrick" doubled its course offerings to more than 140 and class registrations to 1100, nearly doubling the funds for scholarships.
  • 750,000 copies of the "Evenings at Saint Patrick" were distributed throughout the city of Norfolk.
  • entering Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students were carefully assessed and their parents welcomed STPCS.
  • sick students were cared for and comforted whenever Nurse Wohner was away.
  • the 3rd Annual Feast on the Feast took place as joining new families and our present families were presented with a glorious evening of Irish food, music and dance and other surprises on Saint Patrick's Day.
  • the students had an extra pair of hands each week during art class.
  • our classes was able to order Scholastic Books and celebrate special holidays with thoughtful surprises.
  • our students were able to visit far away places through your experiences and stories.
  • our students were able to visit many local museums and historical sites through your assistance on field trips.
  • assistance in the art room and classrooms has enabled teachers to provide extra attention and care to their students.
  • student artwork is proudly and consistently displayed throughout the school.
  • the administrative chores have been accomplished with speed, efficiency and with smiles, along with answered phones processed letters, addressed invitations, stuffed envelopes, organized materials, and more.
  • the Spirit Store is spreading the Wolfhound spirit in hats, shirts and other items.
  • the teachers and staff happily gained many pounds during Teaching Appreciation Week with an incredible breakfast provided each day.
  • Helping HandS serves more and more families with cards, meals, and support through difficult times.
  • Saint Patrick Catholic School started as a vision, became reality and has truly become a community where the gifts of each child are identified, nurtured and celebrated.
