Katherine Buffkin

English Teacher, Grade 6

Mrs. Katherine "K.C." Buffkin comes to Saint Patrick Catholic School excited to take on the challenge of teaching English to the sixth grade.  Before coming to Saint Patrick, Mrs. Buffkin spent three and a half years at home caring for her two children and tutoring middle school students in English and Math.  Prior to her time spent at home, she worked for eight years as a teacher and then as lower school director at a local independent school.  She is experienced in individualizing and differentiating instruction for all types of learners.

Mrs. Buffkin received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia.  She also completed the five-year teacher education program at U.V.A. where she received her Master of Teaching degree.   In her free time, she enjoys being with her family.  She also loves to read and play tennis whenever she has the opportunity!
