Ashley Batkin

English Teacher, Grades 7 & 8

A product of local Catholic education, Ms. Ashley Batkin is thrilled to join the Saint Patrick community as the 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher.  Ashley previously taught in Heidelberg, Germany through the Department of Defense, but most recently she developed and taught her own middle school Creative Writing Workshop in Norfolk. 

Ashley is eager to share with students her love for writing, which she developed at Old Dominion University.  While there, Ashley won the undergraduate essay contest in 2003 and 2004; she was also involved with the school newspaper, The Mace and Crown, reaching the Editor-in-Chief position in 2004.  Ashley graduated from ODU in 2005 with a degree in English with minors in Secondary Education and Journalism.
