Fifth Grade Language Arts and Social Science

Angela has enjoyed teaching in the elementary and middle school settings for over 12 years. Most recently, she served as the Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach for a local elementary school where her responsibilities included overseeing the delivery of Language Arts curriculum and modeling best practices for colleagues in all areas of literacy instruction. Angela’s dedication to her students and fellow faculty members earned her the distinction of Reading Teacher of the Year for the 2006-2007 school year. Prior to this, Angela held the position of reading resource teacher for a local year-round school, and served as an administrator to approximately 300 students and 30 teachers during the student enrichment sessions.

 

A life-long resident of Norfolk, Angela is a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and is a true believer in her city’s mantra of “Life Celebrated Daily.”

Angela received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Old Dominion University and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia.
